WATERLOO - DeVota Anna Waltemeyer, 97, of Waterloo, died at home Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, from complications of pneumonia.
She was born Sept. 26, 1909, in Waterloo, daughter of Henry and Maude Condon Gindt. She married Floyd Elwin Waltemeyer on Feb. 6, 1937, in Nevada. He died Sept. 23,1967.
Mrs. Waltemeyer was employed as a floor supervisor at Sibert's Laundry.
Survivors include a son, Gene "Mike" (Cheryl) of Washburn; two daughters, Kay Bovy of Waterloo and Kathy (Randy) Canham of Janesville; eight grandchildren, Monica (Mark) Morgan, Dawn Bovy, Dan Bovy, Todd (Deb) Bovy, Mark Waltemeyer, Kevin Waltemeyer, Scott (Jill) Kane and Brian (Colleen) Kane; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dolores LaPole of Des Moines.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Berniece (Lon) Frye and Marguerite (Jim) James; and a brother-in-law, Clarence "Red" LaPole.
Services: 10:30 a.m. today at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is in charge of arrangements.
