Lynka Johnson, 69, of Waterloo, Iowa, died on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at her home, of natural causes. She was born on January 10, 1937, in McGregor, the daughter of Wilford Earl and Katherine Jeanette Richards Gruver.

She married Elliot Wilson and they later divorced. She married John O. Johnson in September of 1963. They later divorced. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Schoitz Hospital, Parkview Nursing and Rehab. Center, and at Countryview Care Center; over a span of 25 years.

She is survived by four sons: Ted (Debi) Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Ross Wilson, and John O. Johnson II, all of Waterloo; by three daughters: Nadine (Dean) Olson of Ames, Tracy Wilson of Waterloo, and Janet (Gary) Grafft of Marengo; by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; by a brother, Neill (Donna) Gruver of Austin, Texas; and by a sister, Eleanor Krug of Waverly.

Lynka was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Gruver and John. B. Gruver; and by two sisters, Martha Secor and Betty Turner.

Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street. Public visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
