WATERLOO — Barbara Jane Grimm, 76, of Waterloo, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
She was born Dec. 16, 1936, in Waterloo, daughter of Orval H. and Ruth A. Young Kroenecke. She married William H. Grimm Jr. on Aug. 21, 1955, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo.
Mrs. Grimm graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1955. She was an Avon representative, did marketing for Manpower and was a homemaker. She also was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survived by her husband; four daughters: Tamara Risse and Sabrina (Rick) Linkenmeyer, both of Waterloo, Debra (Keith) Bjerk of Grand Forks, N.D., and Patricia Webber of Ankeny; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Carol (Bob) Rigdon of Dunkerton and Kathy (Bob) Risse of Waterloo; and a brother, Orval Kroenecke Jr. of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Richard James and Eugene Orva Kroenecke; a sister-in-law. Karen Kroenecke; and a grandson, Christian Bjerk.
Family-directed memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church under the auspices of Immanuel Lutheran Church, preceded by an hour of visitation.
Memorials in lieu of flowers: may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
Barbara had a beautiful smile and was affectionately known as Nana to her grandchildren whom she had a special love for. She was a wonderful cook, loved to entertain and decorate for the holidays and enjoyed making special, handcrafted gifts. She will be loved and missed by those who knew and loved her.
