Funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Mary Koepke, who died Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sophia Venter, three miles east of Waterloo, will be held Tuesday afternoon. Brief services will be conducted at the home of F.J. Koepke, a son of the deceased, at 233 Maple Street, at 1:30 p.m. after which the remains will be take to the Immanuel Lutheran church for the funeral rites. Rev. H. Prekel will officiate and the interment will take place in Fairview.

Mrs. Koepke was a native of Germany, born Jan. 15, 1826. Her name was Mary Eickelberg until her marriage, at the age of 40 years, to Joseph Koepke. The marriage was celebrated in Germany and a few years later, in 1872, Mr. and Mrs. Koepke sailed for America. They located near Denver, Ia., where they resided for a number of years. Mr. Koepke died in 1888, and his widow had since made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Venter.

Deceased is survived by the following children: Henry Koepke, Oregon; F.J. Koepke, Waterloo; Mrs. Louisa Snebly, Washington, and Mrs. Venter, Waterloo. One daughter, Mary, is deceased. Mrs. Koepke also leaves 32 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
