CORSON, BERRY, LAUGHLIN

Mrs. George L. Corson, 75, of 620 Kimball Ave., died at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness. She suffered a stroke in 1949 and had been in poor health since. She had been a patient at the hospital for six months.

The former Myrtle Berry was born Dec. 12, 1877, near Waterloo, the daughter of John and Sara Berry.

She was married to George Corson on July 25, 1902, in Waterloo. Mr. Corson is a member of the Waterloo city council. Mrs. Corson was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and served as secretary of the Sunday school for many years prior to her illness.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, John, 421 Kingsley Ave.; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Laughlin, 712 West 11th St., four brothers: Oscar Berry, 117 Mobil St., Loren, Santa Ana, Cal., Ray, Anaheim, Cal., and Fred, Marshalltown, and four grandchildren.

Her parents and one brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Warren K. Martin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday.
