[Waterloo Evening Courier, Monday, January 15, 1912]

Mrs. Albert Dickerson died Sunday morning at 8 o'clock at her home in Jesup of pneumonia of which she had been ill only nine days. As she was active in the work of the Baptist church and of the W.R.C. and had lived in this vicinity for many years, her death will be widely mourned.

Alice McStay was born in New York in 1842 and came to Iowa in an early day where she taught for several years in Black Hawk county, She was married a number of years ago at the home of her mother in Fox township to C.W. Corwin. He was in the hotel business and they lived in various places, being for several years in Waterloo, where Mr. Corwin was in charge of the Logan Hotel and where he also held a county office.

On the death of her first husband, Mrs. Corwin was married in Kansas a few years ago to Albert Dickerson, a widower, and for the past six years, they had lived at his old home in Jesup. She was an ideal homemaker and their life together was very happy.

The only son is Will Corwin, who was with his mother when the end came. John M. McStay of Waterloo and T.W. McStay of Las Angeles, Cal., are brothers, and Mrs. Mary Morgan of Wakeena, Kan., is a sister of the decedent. Mrs. B.J. Howrey of Waterloo is a niece and F.E. McStay of Waterloo, a nephew.

The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Baptist church with the pastor in charge and a large number of old friends and relatives present to pay their last respects. The body will be taken to Waterloo Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
