To Bury Drowning
Victim on Friday

Funeral services are tenatively scheduled for Friday morning at O'Keefe and Towne Funeral Home for 13-year-old Robert James House, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William House, 712 Lincoln St.

The boy drowned at about 12:15 Tuesday afternoon when he and two companions tried to swim to a river sandbar opposite the 600 block in the Cedar Bend area. One of the companions said he went to help Robert when he saw the boy go under the water three or four times, but missed him by a yard.

After a two and one-half hour search, a fire department river team found the boy 50 feet downstream from the site where he went under.

He was born November 8, 1944, in Waterloo. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was to enter eighth grade this fall at St. Mary's Catholic School.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, William B. House Jr., S-3c, with the 8th Army in Korea; four sisters: Maxine Ann, completing vocational nursing training at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., Maryln Joyce, 20, Arlene Annette. 14. and Marcelia Thelma, 11, all at home.

Funeral services for Robert James House, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. William B. House of 712 Lincoln Street, will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Father L. W. Klassen, pastor, will officiate and burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

A parish rosary will be recited at O'Keefe & Town Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The youth drowned Tuesday afternoon while swimming in the Cedar River.
