Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Evansdale Chapel of Memories for Carl C. Brandes, 53, of 1618 Michigan Ave., Evansdale, who died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Scholtz Memorial Hospital of bronchitis.

The Rev. V.A. Clocksin, pastor of Grace Bible Church, Evansdale, of which Mr. Brandes was a member, will officiate and burial will be in the Garden of Memories.

Mr. Brandes was born Sept. 5, 1904, in Black Hawk county, the son of Louis and Anna Brandes. He was married to Velma Wilson at Canton, S.D., on Oct. 5, 1934.

He had lived in Evansdale for the past 18 years, moving there from Waterloo. He had been a machinist at the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 22 years until his retirement last February.

Survivors include his wife, a son, LeRoy, at Detroit, Mich.; three brothers, Albert of Dubuque, Herman of Orting Wash.; and Louis of 1901 Jefferson St., and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Hamm of 1120 Logan Ave.

Mr. Brandes was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.
