Harold E. Minks, 78, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 1996, at Covenant Medical Center of heart failure.

He was born April 10, 1917, in Cincinnati, son of Elmer and Iola Allen Minks. He married Mary Smith on Dec. 24, 1937, in Unionville, Mo.

Mr. Minks was a semi-trailer truck driver for 50 years, retiring in 1986.

Survivied by his wife; two sons, Larry L. and LeRoy E., both of Waterloo; a daughter, Rosalind Offield of Waterloo; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and a brother, Ersie, of Des Moines.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Lee and Floyd; and three sisters, Iva Leonard, Elsie Wages and Fern Thomasson.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Chapel of Memories-West Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until services Saturday at the chapel.

Memorial fund has been established.
