Funeral services for James S. Parrott, 73, of 329 Prospect Avenue, who died in his sleep at Rainy Lake, Ont. Tuesday night, will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a. m. in Christ Episcopal Church.

Rev. Charles Gunnell, rector of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The body will arrive in Waterloo from Ft. Francis, Canada, via Rock Island railroad Thursday at 9:35 p.m., and will be taken from Parrott & Wood Funeral Home to the family home shortly after noon Friday.

The body will remain at the family home until Saturday at 8 a.m. then taken to the church where it may be viewed until shortly before services begin. The casket will not be opened after services.

The Waterloo Daily Courier, May 25, 1948, featured an article about the Matt Parrott & Sons Co printing firm marking their 80th anniversary. The business was founded in 1863 by Matt Parrott Sr. When his three sons, W. F., L. G., and J. S. joined the firm, they published the Waterloo Daily Reporter, which was later sold to the Waterloo Daily Courier. They then expanded their operatlons to bookbinding, publication of blank books, calendars and county legal blanks, and complete office equipment.
