WATERLOO — Nancy Dorothy Cusmano Prange, 75, of Waterloo, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home from complications of heart disease.

She was born Feb. 9, 1937, in Detroit, daughter of Christopher and Margaret Lau Cusmano. She married John Howard Anderson in 1954, and they later divorced. She married Jaques “Jack” Prange in 1972. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Prange graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1954 and attended Iowa State Teachers College (now the University of Northern Iowa), Cedar Falls. She spent 40 years in retail, including Black’s Department Store, and was manager of Jo-Ann Fabrics for many years.

Survived by three daughters: Kathryn “Kate” (Eugene) Petersen of Waterloo, Karen Anderson of Tucson, Ariz., and Crystal (Dan) Rosenwinkle of Hickory Creek, Texas; two sons, Brad (Renae) Anderson of Kissimmee, Fla., and Jim (Karen) Anderson of Princeton; a stepson, Todd (Denise) Prange of Mansfield, Mo.; three stepdaughters: Deb (Jim) Neisen of Decatur, Ark., Becky (Dan) Scates of Bentonville, Ark., and Tammie (Brian) Strachan of Gravette, Ark.; three brothers: Jerry (Sandy) Cusmano of Placentia, Calif., David (Tammy) Cusmano of Cedar Falls and Paul (Pauline) Cusmano of Waterloo; 34 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Diana (Dean) Eickelberg; and a great-grandson, Zerod Prange.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in the cemetery. The casket will be closed. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel is in charge or arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Planned Parenthood.

Nancy’s door and her heart were always open. May God hold you in his hands until we are together again.
