CEDAR FALLS - Lavina E. Baderschneider, 93, of the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, formerly of 807 Ellen St., died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 7, 1906, near Klinger, daughter of Carl and Kate Neumann Matthias. She married Theo. "Ted" Baderschneider on June 27, 1929, in Klinger. He died Oct. 2, 1974.

Mrs. Baderschneider and her husband worked at the Klinger General Store for 10 years, then bought a store in New Hartford, which they operated for 11 years.

Survived by a son, the Rev. Victor Baderschneider of Mahomet, Ill.; two daughters, Wera B. Gahre of Fontana, Calif., and Edith B. Liesener of Silver Springs, Md.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Vernon Matthias of Readlyn.

Preceded in death by three brothers: Fred, Ora and Clarence Matthias.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Christian Crusaders.
