DUNKERTON - Bernard L. Johnson, 61, of Arlington, Va., formerly of Dunkerton, died Nov. 19, 1999, in Richmond, Ind., from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

He was born May 31, 1938, in Chariton, son of Harold R. and Erma Mason Johnson. He married Marian Spies on Aug. 13, 1961, in Dunkerton.

Mr. Johnson earned business and law degrees from the University of Iowa and an MBA degree from the University of Michigan. He was a certified public accountant with Price Waterhouse Cooper since 1966 and became a partner in 1974. From 1984 to 1993 he was head of International Tax Services in the Great Lakes region and from 1993 to 1995 in the southeast region. In 1995 he was named head of the Foreign Tax Group. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survived by his wife; a son, Brian of Carmel, Ind.; a daughter, Julie Harris of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; three grandchildren; and his mother of Bella Vista, Ark.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Dunkerton, with burial in Dunkerton Cemetery. Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, is in charge of local arrangements.
