WATERLOO - Duane Frederick Getty, 70, of Richardson, Texas, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in Richardson.

He was born Aug. 17, 1935, in Freeport, Ill., son of Florence Evelyn and Frederick Eatherton Getty.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960 in Germany and from 1961 to 1962 in Fort Knox, Ky. He was president and CEO of Jimmy Dean Foods/Sara Lee, retiring in 1994.

Survived by his wife, Marjorie "Marge"; three daughters: Diane (Kyle) Stone, Kristine Evelyn Getty and Janet Sue (Phillip) Monk; seven grandchildren; a brother, Harold E.; and a sister, Mary Ellen Werkmeister.

Preceded in death by a brother, Gerald.

Services were Friday in Richardson, with private family burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
