WATERLOO - Robert C. Hoag, 83, of Waterloo, passed away March 29, 2006, at Golden Valley, Minn. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Interment will take place in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with an 8 p.m. Masonic service.

Mr. Hoag is survived by his daughter, Trudy Hoag of Golden Valley; his brother, Dean Hoag of Manson; and his sister-in-law, Grace Hoag of Humboldt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susannah; sister, Eleanor Wactell; and brothers, Eldon Hoag and Roland "Ron" Hoag.

Robert Cameron Hoag, the son of Roland and Helen (Mather) Hoag, was born Dec. 14, 1922, in Humboldt County and graduated from Bradgate High School in 1941. Following his education, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and during World War II served in England. It was while in England, he met Susannah and the couple were united in marriage on April 17, 1945, at St. Martins In The Fields Episcopal Church near Coventry. Following his discharge the couple made their home in Des Moines where Robert graduated from A.I.B. He then worked for Firestone Tire Co. in Des Moines until moving to Waterloo where Waterloo Tire Sales employed him. In 1957, Robert became an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service until his retirement in 1982.

Mrs. Hoag passed away in 1996 and Robert continued to maintain his home in Waterloo. He passed away at his daughter's home on the morning of March 29, 2006, at the age of 83.

Mr. Hoag was a member of the First Methodist Church in Waterloo. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of Lodge #105 of Waterloo, and the El Kahir Shrine in Cedar Rapids. He was also a life member of the AmVets.
