CEDAR FALLS - Services for John H. Durham, 51, 912 Cherry Wood Dr., who died Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at University of Iowa hospitals in Iowa City of leukemia, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dan-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

He was bom July 30, 1926, at Melcher, the son of Lloyd and Hazel Johnson Durham.

He married Delores Miller June 13, 1954, in Schleswig. He owned and operated a recording
studio here.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Cynthia Durham of Iowa City and Laurel at home, his mother, Hazel Heaberlin of Knoxville, two sisters, Mrs. Amos Jones of Knoxville and Mrs. Jules Holmes of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Memorials may be given to the University of Iowa for leukemia research. Friends may call at the funeral home until service time.

Funeral services for John Hayden Durham of Cedar Falls, who died at Iowa University Hospitals in Iowa City, August 17, 1977 of leukemia, were held from the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Saturday morning, August 20 at 10 o'clock. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery at Cedar Falls.

John Hayden was born July 30, 1926 at Melcher to Lloyd Hayden and Hazel Johnson Durham. He attended Knoxville schools and upon graduation in 1944 joined the Navy ROTC. He graduated from University of Iowa in 1949 with a degree in art and music. He taught at the Corwith, Wesley and Janesville, Iowa schools.

On June 13, 1954 he was united in marriage to Dolores Miller at Schleswig, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores; his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Heaberlin of Knoxville; two daughters, Cynthia Durham of Iowa City and Laurel Durham at home; two sisters, Mrs. Amos Jones (Ruth) of Knoxville and Mrs. Jules Holmes (Lucile) of Colorado Springs, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1928 and one infant son.
