WATERLOO — William Leslie Peyton, 77, of Watertown, S.D., formerly of Waterloo, died at home Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012.

He was born Dec. 30, 1934, in Waterloo, son of Chester Freeman and Margaret Susan McCoy Peyton. He married Sharon Ihlenfeldt on Sept. 1, 1962, in Minnesota.

Mr. Peyton graduated from Janesville High School in 1952 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952-1954. He was employed as a supervisor at Western Area Power Administration, retiring in 1992.

Survived by his wife; two sons, William M. (Joni) of Watertown and Ronald (Cheri) Pint of Peoria, Ariz.; a daughter, Pam Walkins of Warner Robins, Ga.; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer (Justin) Pfeifer, Heather Walkins, Brittany Walkins, D.J. Walkins, Erica (Jeremy) Blauer, Cheryl Peyton, Stephanie Peyton, Michael Peyton, Leslie Pint and Allison Pint; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary (Irene) of Fairbank and Charles of Waterloo; and a sister, Marilyn M. (Carl) Rechkemmer.

Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sheryl; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Peyton.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
