Wayne Swinton (1941-2012)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA — Wayne R. Swinton, 71, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, December 6, at NewAldaya Lifescapes after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 6, 1941, in Richland Township, near Nashua, son of Robert and Joyce Richards Swinton. He married Katherine Small on August 27, 1965, in East Hartford, Connecticut.

Mr. Swinton graduated from Nashua High School in 1959. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965, and worked as a machinist for 30 years at John Deere before retiring.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Gary (Donica) of Grand Haven, Michigan, and Arlo of Clarksville; five grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Swinton of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Carol Millington of Richmond, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary; and a sister, Jean Smart.

Graveside services: were Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua. Hugeback & Johnson Funeral Home, Nashua, was in charge of arrangements.
