CEDAR FALLS — Virgil “Jim” Stover, 83, of Tonasket, Wash., formerly of Cedar Falls, died at home Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012.

He was born in Grundy County, son of Guy Sr. and Ona Sherbon Stover. He married Arlene Emerson; they were later divorced. He later married Sharon Surette of Kamploops, Canada.

Mr. Stover served in the U.S. Army. He later farmed and drove a semi.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Brenda Rockwell and Beverly Szego, both of California; several grandchildren; four sisters, Evelyn Lee of Valencia, Calif., Dora Pence of Newton, and Lois Lampman and Darlene Grapp, both of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two daughters, an infant, Gloria, and Barbara Stephenson; and four brothers, Guy Jr., Francis, Jaye and Cecil.

His body will be cremated.

Virgil tried his hand at farming for a short time, then heard the call of “over the road” semi driving, retiring after many years. He will be missed by all who loved him.
