WATERLOO — Joanne LaVon Wilson, 78, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of lung cancer.

She was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Waterloo, daughter of Harold and Marian Schake Doyle. She married Duane E. Brown on April 4, 1953, and they later divorced. On July 3, 1973, she married Michael R. Wilson. They also later divorced.

Mrs. Wilson retired from the Black Hawk County Extension where she worked as a program assistant. She also was employed at Regal Plastic Supply Co. as an office assistant.

Survived by two daughters, Jill (Bob) Fauser and Jan (Rusty) Renner; a son, Bret Brown; a stepdaughter, Joni Sherwood; a sister, Nancy Woodruff Rickard; a brother-in-law, Leon Richard; a niece, Tanya (Kent) Smith; a nephew, Tony Woodruff; four great-nieces and nephews, Tara and Cody Smith and Tricia and Austin Woodruff; four grandchildren, Scott (Cher) McDermott, Nicole (Anthony) Lombardo, Tom (Tara) Brown and Tayler Jo Renner; three stepgrandchildren, Danielle, Nicole and Katie; six great-grandchildren, Kately, Taylor Gene, Cameron, Chylea, Jersey and Tay Lynn.

Preceded in death by a son, Robin Glenn Brown; a grandson, Tony Broan; and a special friend, Ronald Bemus.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Heartland Vineyard Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, An Overton Family Service.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the family.
