CEDAR FALLS — Lonney Marie Chevalier, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

She was born Oct. 24, 1926, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Gustav and Ella Kruger Dahms. She married Darrell Dean Chevalier on Sept. 6, 1947, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He died Jan. 7, 1994.

Mrs. Chevalier worked for Hearst Grocery, Rath Packing, Waterloo Laundry and Chamberlain Manufacturing before retiring. She was an active Girl Scout leader in Evansdale.

Survived by two sons, Denny (Joy) of Tampa, Fla., and Dean (Joy) of Waterloo; five daughters: Marie Wulf and Diana Bergmeier, both of Cedar Falls, Sharon (David) Mathews of Colorado Springs, Colo., Carrell (Steve) Fiala of Spirit Lake and Nola (Harold) Roeding of Dunkerton; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence "Junior" Steggall of Decorah and Jerry Steggall Sr. of Bakersfield, Calif.; three sisters: Marian Jensen of Brigham City, Utah, Lois Olson of Waterloo, and Jeanna Stearns of Allegany, Mich.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Dahms and twin brothers Edwin and Edward Dams; three grandchildren, Thomas Mathews and Ryan and Gerald Bergmeier; and a son-in-law, Dean Bergmeier.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Hudson, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation from 3 to 5:30 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
