WATERLOO — Ella Jane Linstrom Colosimo, 77, of Dallas, formerly of Waterloo, died Nov. 10.

She was born Jan. 12, 1935, in LuVerne, daughter to Earl H. and Ella E. Bowman Linstrom.

Ms. Colosimo graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1953. She moved to Des Moines and was employed at Equitable Life Insurance Co. She also worked many years as a general manager in the hospitality industry for Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn and several others, retiring in 1998.

Survived by two daughters, Katrina (Marvin) Slovak and Donell (Michael) O’Connor; a son, Anthony (LuAnn); four grandchildren; three brothers, William (Betty), Charles (Sharon) and David (Arlene) Linstrom; and two sisters, Carmen Callies and Lauretta Rubino.

Preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kemble.

Services were Nov. 17 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Des Moines.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation

Ella Jane (Linstrom) Colosimo was born January 12, 1935, in LuVerne, Iowa, to Earl H. and Ella E (Bowman) Linstrom. She graduated from East High School, Waterloo, Iowa, in 1953. She moved to Des Moines and was employed at Equitable Life Insurance Company. She also worked many years as a general manager in the hospitality industry for Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn and several others. She retired in 1998 and resided in Dallas, Texas. She volunteered many hours for the Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Planned Parenthood, homeless missions and various advocacy groups.

She is survived by three children, Katrina (Marvin) Slovak, Anthony (LuAnn) Colosimo, and Donell (Michael) O'Connor; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Matthew Slovak, and Deaven and Danielle O'Connor. She is also survived by three brothers, William (Betty) Linstrom, Charles (Sharon) Linstrom and David (Arlene) Linstrom; two sisters, Carmen Callies and Lauretta Rubino; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Kemble.

She was a fun-loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt and will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 3300 Easton Blvd, Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Both will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The family requests no flowers. Memorials can be directed to the family for a memorial to be selected at a later date.
