WATERLOO — Rosemary R. “Jackie” Meany, 86, of Friendship Village Health Center, died there Monday, Nov. 12, 2012.

She was born Jan. 5, 1926, in Dubuque, daughter of Harry and Alvina Tressel Jacquinot. She married Patrick J. Meany on May 25, 1946, in Dubuque. He died March 31, 1971

Mrs. Meany had worked as a secretary at Hinson Manufacturing. She was a charter member of St. Edward Catholic Church, as well as a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Serra International, Friendship Village Auxiliary, Covenant Auxiliary and ACCW.

Survived by a son, J.J. “Joe” (Nancy) of Dysart; two daughters, Lisa (Michael) Koloc of Gilbertville and Kathleen (David) Clark of Galliton, Tenn.; five grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Jacquinot of Phoenix.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.

Rosemary was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was always No. 1. She enjoyed playing bridge, making lovely quilts, baking wonderful sugar cookies and making melt-in-your-mouth divinity.
