WATERLOO — John A. Pratt, 90, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 29, 1922, in Manchester, son of Albert Nelson and Anna Hammond Pratt. He married Virginia Broughton on May 3, 1953, in Manchester.

Mr. Pratt was employed at Rath Packing Co. for more than 40 years. He was also a self-employed painter. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Survived by his wife; seven sons: Clifford (Joni) Pratt, Clyde (Audrey) Pratt and Lyle (Jan) Pratt, all of Waterloo, John Prideg of Cedar Rapids, Jim Prideg of Cedar Falls, Jack Kearns of Florida and Joe Fuller of Fort Madison; five daughters: Christine (Randy) Hanson, Karen (Jeff) Pederson, Marian Leighton, Barb Pratt and Cindy (Jon) Hauptly, all of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by five sisters; and four brothers.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
