WATERLOO — John A. Miller, 80, of Waterloo, died at home Monday, Nov. 5, 2012.

He was born July 22, 1932, in Reinbeck, son of Hugh and Sarah Miller.

Mr. Miller graduated from Dike High School in 1951, then joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea during the Korean War. He worked as a crane operator for more than 35 years in Southern California, including work in the film and television industry.

Survived by a son, Stephen H.; and a grandson.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Lyman and Melvin; and a sister, Sibyl Black.

Visitation: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, both in Dike. Military honors will be conducted by Dike American Legion Post 471.
