WATERLOO, Iowa - Keith M. Ackerson, 83, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Manor Care Health Services from several health issues.

He was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Waverly, son of Bernard and Dorothy Yockstick Ackerson. He married Mary Wray, and they later divorced. He married Sandra in 1969.

Mr. Ackerson was a truck driver for most of his life.

Survived by his wife; six sons, Dennis, David, Darrell, Douglas, Dallas and Rick; a daughter, Diana (Duitsman) Douglas; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wayne Secor and Robert Ackerson.

Preceded in death by a brother, Charles.

Remembrance gathering: 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Dewar Community Center. Iowa Cremation Society assisted the family.

Keith had a dream to board, raise and show horses and someday own a race horse.

He will be loved and missed always.
