Emily Ann Christie, was born November 7, 1922 in Early, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Lydia (Miller) Truax. She died Saturday, December 29, 2001 at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center at the age of 79 years.

She married Frank Christie July 20, 1941 in Waterloo, Iowa. Emily was an LPN having been employed by Sartori Hospital, Allen Hospital, Windsor Care Center and Cedar Falls Health Care Center retiring in 1984. She was past President of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly).

Survivors include her husband, Frank, of Cedar Falls; her children, Barbara Zech of Cedar Falls, Ted Christie of Ovido, Florida, Ann Cox of Alvord, Texas, Michael Christie of Hudson, and Dale Christie of Cedar Falls, 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one brother, Dale Truax of Oregon, and three sisters: Edna Hersom and Alice Snyder, both of Oregon and Verna Monte of Louisana.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, one foster son, Ralph Knudsen, one grandson, Frank Matthew Christie, one sister, Lois Miller, and four brothers: George, Harold, Frank, and Joe Truax.

Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and Cremation Service with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo.

A memorial fund will be established.
