Craig Merle Olson

HUDSON - Services for Craig Merle Olson, 18, of 215 Ardis Ave., are attentively set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hudson Community Church with burial in the Hudson Cemetery. He died at his home Monday morn mg. An autopsy was conducted

He was born in Cedar Falls June 6, 1963, son of Cecil and Dorothy Schmitt Olson. He would have been a senior at Hudson Community High School this fall.

He is survived by his mother of Des Moines; his father of 215 Ardis Ave two sisters, Robin Olson of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Trisha Olson at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs D. E. Schmitt of 6009 W. Shaulis Road Cedar Falls; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Johnson of 404 Mam St.; and maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Nell Boyd of the Western Home, Cedar Falls.

A memorial fund has been established. Friends may call at Locke Funeral after noon Wednesday

Police think man, 18,
died of natural causes

HUDSON-Police believe an 18-year-old man found dead at home here died of natural causes.

A friend found Craig Olson in his bed shortly after noon Monday. Police said they found no evidence of foul play, but not yet know how he died. Black Hawk County Deputy Medical Examiner Jeffrey Crandall said an autopsy was performed Monday, but the results will not be known For several weeks.

Police Chief Tom Helling said Olson's father heard him get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. The father left for work Monday morning while his son was still in bed.
