CEDAR FALLS — Orvin R. Schoville, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 21, 1925, in Clinton, Wis., son of Perley A. and Eliza A. Ward Schoville. He married Pauline J. Potter on June 26, 1948, at First Christian Church, Soldiers Grove, Wis. She died April 29, 2001.

Mr. Schoville graduated high school in Soldiers Grove and attended auctioneer school in Mason City. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was employed with John Deere Tractor Works for 34 years, retiring in 1982. He served as commander of Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49, state commander of AMVETS, and 4th National District Commander of AMVETS and was Master of Masonic Lodge 65 AF&AM in 1967. He was a member of First Christian Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by a son, Steven of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Kathy (Lowell) Redding and Judy (Paul) Buchanan of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Portia Schoville, Mary Schoville and Susan (Milo) Helgerson; and a brother-in-law, Paul Potter.

Preceded in death by a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; five brothers: Fred, Archie, Dorvin, Harrison and Warren; and three sisters, Freda Wanless-Gander, Dorothy Baker Rogers and Geraldine Burrage.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
