CEDAR FALLS — Frances L. Schmidt, 80, of Cedar Falls, died at home Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012.

She was born Jan. 12, 1932, in Winside, Neb., daughter of Louis and Vena Klahn Fink. She married Carl Schmidt on Oct. 7, 1950, in Lincoln, Neb. He died April 28, 1982.

Mrs. Schmidt worked for Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls until retiring.

Survived by two sons, Angelo (Sue) of Cedar Falls and Carl Mike (Lynn) of Janesville; four daughters: Cynthia Diane (Dale) Castle of Waterloo, Barbara (David) Bruns and Tammy Becker, both of Cedar Falls and Carol (Cole) Kern of La Porte City; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Shannon of Lombard, Ill.

Preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Fink; and a sister, Ruth Moffitt.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
