COOL, BALES, MARTIN, DUNBAR, BOWMAN

CEDAR FALLS — Robert D. Cool, 92, of NewAldaya Lifescapes, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born May 15, 1920, in Clio, son of Orville and Ethel Bales Cool. He married Jessie Sue Martin on Oct. 8, 1939, in Unionville, Mo. She died Feb. 23, 2007.

He graduated from Centerville High School in 1938. Mr. Cool worked at John Deere in Product Engineering as a mechanic, retiring in 1982, after 33 years.

Survived by a son, Richard “Dick” (Sandy) of Waterloo; two daughters, Sara Dunbar of Cedar Falls and Catherine (Rusty) Bowman of Hudson; 10 grandchildren, Terri (Jay) Ala, Brian (Dawn) Cool, Jennifer (Bill) Horton, Stephen Dunbar, Jacqueline (Keith) Jasperson, Christopher Cool, Timothy (Analia) Cool, Alisa Anderson, Jamie (Charlie) Votrobeck and Daniel Bowman; and 10 great-grandchildren, Brent, Brandon and Ryan Jasperson, Cory and Benjamin Anderson, Brianna Cool, Caroline and Spencer Cool and Cale and Levi Votrobeck.

Preceded in death by a son, R. Wayne; a grandson, Richard Dunbar; and a brother, Ray.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at NewAldaya Lifescapes, with burial in Garden of Memories. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, An Overton Family Service, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Saturday at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or NewAldaya Lifescapes.

Bob enjoyed farming, animals and tractors, and was in the Two-Cylinder Club.
