WATERLOO — Donald Mourer Sr., 84, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, in Tampa.

He was born Jan. 29, 1928, in Oelwein, son of Lynn Mourer and Constance Likus. He married Mary Helen Mourer. She preceded him in death.

He received a high school diploma. Mr. Mourer served in the U.S. Army for two tours of duty during the Korean War and worked at Rath Meat Packing Co. in Waterloo.

Survived by two sons, Donald D. Jr. and Stephen J.; a brother, Del; four grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with burial in Florida National Cemetery,
Bushnell. Loyless Funeral Home, Land O’ Lakes, Fla., is assisting the family.

Donald D. Mourer, Sr.

MOURER, Donald Sr., 84, of Tampa, Fla. passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012. He was born in Oelwein, Iowa and moved to Tampa in 1983. Donald served in the Army for two tours of duty during the Korean War. When he returned to Waterloo, Iowa, he worked at Rath Meat Packing Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Helen Mourer.

He is survived by his two sons, Donald D. Mourer, Jr. and Stephen J. Mourer; brother, Del Mourer, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15th at St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
