Tuesday for
Mrs. Gutknecht

Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Gutknecht of Hudson, who died Saturday morning at her home, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Community Church at Hudson. Burial was in the Hudson Cemetery.

Death was due to cancer and followed several months of illness.

Mrs. Gutknecht was the former Carrie M. Haven of LaPorte City. She came to LaPorte City with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Haven, from Bristow, when about three years old and remained there until her marriage to Frank Gutknecht of Hudson.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Richard of Hudson and Jon, at home; two brothers, Percy Haven, LaPorte City and Carlton Haven, Grinnell and one sister, Mrs. H. B. Scott, of Waterloo.

Two brothers, Merville and Glenn preceded her in death.

CEDAR FALLS — Fire Chief Dick Kennison Monday received a letter from Frank Gutknecht, Hudson fire chief, now at Rochester, Minnesota, making known that Mrs. Gutknecht has cancer of the spine and has suffered a loss of body function from the waist down.

Gutknecht voiced doubt that his wife will ever use her legs again. He stays at the hospital constantly to wait oh his wife.

The letter; to Kennison was to thank him and the other members Of the fire department for a big bouquet of flowers,

Her parents were Emmett M. and Sarah E. (Hull) Haven.
Children - two sons:
Richard H. (Spouse: Nancy L. (Nielsen) Gutknecht)
Jon C. (Spouse: Mary Katherine (Williams) Gutknecht.

Jon's wife became Mary Gallagher and Jon's 2nd wife is Charlotte.)
