Florence E. Sackett, 99, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Friday, May 25, 2012 of natural causes.

She was born December 3, 1912 in Hurley, South Dakota, the daughter of Hawkins and Lillian Clements Nelson.

Florence married Robert E. Sackett on March 14, 1936 in Waterloo. He died January 15, 2001.

Together, they owned and operated Morris Printing Co. from 1956 to 2000. She was a member of Grace Brethren Church where she was past president of the WMC, a Sunday School teacher, and deaconess.

She is survived by her 3 sons: Morris D., Robert P., and Stephen and wife Shareen, all of Waterloo; 3 daughters: Marie Umbower and husband Daryl of Syracuse, Indiana, Nancy Poyner and husband Weston of Mena, Arkansas, and Jane Dickson of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Florence is preceded in death by her husband, son Timothy, sister Laverna Landau, brothers Raleigh and Robert Nelson, son-in-law Rodney Dickson, daughter-in-law Rita Sackett, and great-granddaughter Kayla Petalver.

Services 2:30p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Locke Funeral Home. Visitation 12:00pm Tuesday until service time at the Locke Funeral Home. Burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa.
