Lois Ellen Dailey, 84, of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at her home after a brief illness.

She was born June 10, 1927 in Lamoni, daughter of James and Stella Pyle Cantrell. She married Harvey W. Dailey on November 21, 1947 in Cedar Falls. After graduating from Fairfield High School in 1945, she attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI). She was employed in the offices of John Deere for 10 years, prior to becoming a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Donna Dailey (Michael) Gerrard of Cambridgeshire, England and Linda Dailey Brintnall of Marshalltown; a son, Thomas (Cindy) Dailey of Goshen, Ind.; three grandchildren, Sam, David and Olivia Brintnall; three step-grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah and Paul Johnson; two sisters, Alice (Lee) Simmons of Goodman, Mo. and Beverly (Don) Bunce of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Cantrell and three sisters, Isabell Snow, Lyla Richardson and Patricia Cantrell.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4:00 7:00.p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty – Waychoff – Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4:00 p.m. rosary. There will be no visitation at the church on Thursday.
