WATERLOO - Bert Yockey, 91, of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 28, at Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born July 4, 1920, in Waterloo, daughter of Bert A. and Clara Colvin Yockey. He married Lela R. Edwards on Oct. 4, 1941, in Kirksville, Mo.

Mr. Yockey served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 75th division of the 5th Army and was involved in five major battle zones including the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He worked at Titus Manufacturing, retiring in 1975 as senior vice president.

Bert enjoyed fishing in Canada and traveling to Colorado on many occasions. He was a self-trained stained glass artist who made beautiful stained glass lamps and window hangings for family and friends.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Randy (Sandy) of LeClaire and Steve (Terry) of Red Wing, Min.; a daughter, Laurie (Marc) Venter of Brainerd, Minn.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Roy; and two sisters, Blossom Turner and Marion Westerfield.

Private family services were held. Arrangements by Locke Funeral Home.
