Sandra L. Kline, 73 of Elk Run Heights died Sunday, September 9 at Allen Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 23, 1938 in Waterloo, daughter of Harold and Harriett Joyner Howard. She married Vallie T. Kline July 3, 1966 in Waterloo. He died May 14, 1991.

She was employed with Waterloo Community Schools for many years.

Survivors include two daughters, Melodie Janssen of Elk Run Heights and Melinda (Verlon) Shears of Grand Island, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Derek and Mitchell Fike and Mary (Jamie) Geiger, all of Waterloo, and Nick (Alicia) Loffredo of Grand Island, Nebraska, Keeley (Ben) Berardi of South Ogden, Utah, Chad (Briget) Loffredo and Tyler and Cody Shears all of Grand Island, Nebraska; 17 great grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry (Rosie) Jenkins of Waterloo, Bill (Nancy) Howard of Cedar Falls and Rick (Kay) Howard of Waverly; a sister, Sherrilyn Johnson of Waterloo; her companion of 12 years, Richard Nelson of Elk Run Heights; and close family friends, Charlie (Angie Stephens) Nelson of Waterloo and Chris (Addy) Leistikow of Spirit Lake.

Preceded by her parents; a brother, Jackie Howard and a great-grandson, Isaac Loffredo.

Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be for an hour before services on Thursday.
