Janice Mae Cecak, 75 of Waterloo died Wednesday at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born April 11, 1937 in Sutherland, Iowa, daughter of Harry D. and Velma E. Ahrens Hansen. She married Eugene Kerns on September 18, 1956 in Waterloo. He died October 16, 1970. She married Vernon Cecak on December 15, 1978 in Waterloo.

Jan graduated from Waterloo East High School and was a homemaker.

Survived by her husband; two daughters, Michelle J. (Steve) Rourke of Fairbank and Darcia T. (Curt) Krouse of Waterloo; a son, Brian K. (Paula) Kerns of Streamwood, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Shane (Nicole) Rourke of Germany, Seth (Erin) Rourke Lakeville, Minn., Troy Krouse of Los Angeles, Calif., Janelle (Adam ) Bolts of Solon, Kyla Krouse and Mark Krouse, both of Waterloo, David Kerns and Elise Kerns both of Streamwood, Ill.; 3 great-grandchildren, Calahan, Atdalyn and Brooklyn; a stepson, Lonnie R. (Maureen) Cecak of Cold Stream, Canada; three stepchildren, Sandy (Neil) Lindemood of Boise, Idaho, Debbie Garcia of Las Vegas, Nev., and Tony (Lisa) Gilbert of Ely, Nev.; nine step grandchildren; 14 step great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with inurnment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Fairbank at a later date. Public visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and continue for one hour before services at the church.
