Russell Donald Carlson, was born January 30, 1912 in Dewar, Iowa the son of Rueben Earl and Josephine (Miller) Carlson. He died Monday, September 24, 2001 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa at the age of 89 years.

He married Beulah Getty on January 27, 1935 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He farmed all of his life the Waverly, Janesville, and Cedar Falls areas. Russell was very active in Washington Chapel United Methodist Church where he had served as a Trustee.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah, of Cedar Falls; one son, Donald, of Cedar Falls; three daughters: Donna Osborn of New Hartford, Iowa, Virginia Ingersoll of Cedar Falls, and Carol McGavern of Shawnee, Oklahoma, thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one brother, Ruby Carlson and one sister, Florence Myszka, both of Cedar Falls.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ralph and Lester Carlson, and one sister, Bessie Myszka.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2001 at Washington Chapel United Methodist Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.

A memorial fund will be established.
