WATERLOO -- Harry J. Allen Sr., 77, of 4041 Crossway Drive, died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at Allen Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

He was born July 10, 1921, in Waterloo, son of William W. and Martha Woellert Allen. He married Agatha Pearl Baum on Feb. 18, 1939, in Waterloo. She died May 25, 1998.

Mr. Allen worked at Rath Packing Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1983. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survived by two daughters, Martha M. Lewis of Albert Lea, Minn., and Nancy L. Downs of Waterloo; two sons, Harry J. Jr. of Columbus, Ga., and William W. II of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Wygle of Ionia; and two brothers, Carl Fuller of Waterloo and Ken Fuller of Bentonville, Ark.

Preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with burial in Poyner Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
