VICTOR EARL FREY Sr., 62, of 601 Stephan Avenue, Waterloo, died on Thursday, February 4, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, from complications of multiple myeloma.

He was born April 15, 1936, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was adopted by Harm and Phyllis Frey. He spent his younger years living on a farm in Aplington. He then moved to Hudson. He served in the Armed Forces from 1953 to 1956, serving 18 months in the Korean Conflict.

He married Julie L. Timmerman on August 13, 1960, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

He was employed by John Deere Tractor Works as a maintenance welder for 25 years before taking a medical retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; his daughter, Carolyn (Carey) and husband Kevin Frost and two grandsons, Corey and Kyle Frost of Dike; his son, Victor E. (Skip) Jr. and his wife Janette Frey of Ely, Iowa; a sister, Janet Sullivan of Dallas, Texas; and a brother, Chester Frey of Minnesota.

Memorials may be directed to Mayo Foundation for Multiple Myeloma Research, 200 First St., S.W., Rochester, Minnesota, 55905.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 138 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623.
