CEDAR FALLS - Howard P. Hinrichs, 78, of the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, formerly of 1710 Washington St., died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Readlyn, son of Louie and Anna Zabel Hinrichs. He married Genevieve M. Hansen on Nov. 20, 1948, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Hinrichs was employed at Viking Pump Inc. before retiring.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Mary Naber of Waterloo and Carole Petersen of Osceola; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucinda Mirs and Leona Flynn, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a sister, Julia Reuscher; and three brothers, Walter, Edward, and an infant, LaVerne.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
