ZINGG, LOWREY, TURNER, TREBON, BROWN

DUNKERTON — Marie A. Zingg, 96, of Otterville, formerly of Dunkerton, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012 at West Village Care Center, Independence.

She was born Nov. 10, 1915, on a farm northwest of Dunkerton, daughter of Roy and Dora Lowrey Turner. She married Fred Zingg on Jan. 24, 1945, at East Janesville United Methodist Church, Janesville.

Mrs. Zingg graduated from Dunkerton High School and was a homemaker. She also worked at Rath Packing Co. during World War II and was formerly a waitress and cook at several area restaurants.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Gary (Sharon) of Otterville and Greg (Cindy) Zingg of Iowa Falls; a daughter, Gwen (Jim) Trebon of Fairbank; a son-in-law, Richard Brown of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Brown; and a brother, Donald Turner.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today and an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
