WATERLOO — Larry Gene Brockway Sr., 73, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Aug. 30, at his home of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 22, 1938, in Newton, son of Clarence A. and Ora B. Baker Brockway. He married Jacqueline Ehle on Jan. 2, 1960, at St. Nicholas Church in Evansdale.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School. Mr. Brockway served in the U.S. Navy and was owner and operator of Brockway Towing for 50 years.

Survived by his wife; a son, Gene (Pat) of Evansdale; a daughter, Stacey (Daryld) Miller of Eagle Lake, Minn.; five grandchildren: Andrew (Lindsey) Brockway of Evansdale, Erik Brockway of Evansdale, Kelli Brockway of Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany, and Zachery and Alexandra Miller of Eagle Lake, Minn.; two brothers, Donald L. of Marshalltown and Richard (Karla) of Waterloo; and a sister, Carolyn A. Brockway of Altoona.

Preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Copeland.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, with a private family burial at a later date. Military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and the U.S. Navy. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and also for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
