WATERLOO - Keith L. Cue, 78, of Webster City, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, at Hamilton Hospital, Webster City, of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 25, 1920, in Dow City, son of Lester and Helen Rule Cue. He married Elaine Evenson on Dec. 5, 1947, in Austin, Minn.

Mr. Cue was trained as an agent telegrapher for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, and in 1941 started work as a railroad clerk in Osage, then Orchard and St. Ansgar. In 1948 he was appointed auditor for the ICGRR and worked in Cherokee, Waterloo, Champaign, Ill., and Chicago.

In 1967 he took an agent position and worked in Charles City, Dubuque and Waterloo, having spent 15 years in Waterloo as a supervising agent and manager of transportation system on the Iowa division, retiring in 1980.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Kathleen Preston of Greenfield, Wis.; two sons, Ronald of Ashland, Ore., and Robert of Altoona; seven grandchildren; his mother of Denison; three brothers, Kenneth of Fort Dodge, Glenn of Webster City and Richard of Dunlap; and two sisters, Marion Gibson of Story City and Fern Jensen of Corvallis, Ore.

Services: 1:30 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, with burial in Graceland Cemetery, both in Webster City. Foster Funeral Home, Webster City, is in charge of arrangements.
