Odell S. Gilstrap, age 83, of Waterloo died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at her home.

She was born September 8, 1928 in Dustin, Hughes County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Curtis and Roffler Brown Fain. Odell married Edward S. Gilstrap on July 16, 1945 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1975.

Odell was a homemaker and her family was a large part of her life. She also worked for several years at Santa Claus Industries in Waterloo.

Survivors include 2 sons, Bill (Mary Kay) Gilstrap of Hudson, IA, Tom (Judy) Gilstrap of Washburn, IA; 2 daughters, Kathy Ann (Myron) Welch of Little Rock, Arkansas and Debbie (Quintin Neuenkirk) Marquand of Waterloo; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; a brother, James Fain of Bakersfield, California and a sister, Dorothy Story of Jones, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 5 brothers, Wilburn, Bill, Delbert, Burel and Leroy Fain and a sister, Edith McMorris.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday and an hour prior to the services on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
