CEDAR FALLS — Samuel “Dean” Whitley, 47, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Streamwood, Ill. died Thursday, July 26, 2012 at his home.

He was born Dec. 8, 1964, in Chicago, son of Billy and Billie Davis Whitley. He married Denise Santomauro June 22, 1985, in Streamwood, Ill. They later divorced.

He was employed with John Deere and Wells Manufacturing, retiring in 2011.

Survived by three daughters: Billie Whitley (fiance Arnold Deich III), Jessica (Eric) Hunt and Kimberly Whitley, all of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren; his father, Billy (Peggy) of Statesville, N.C.; and three sisters: Carol Thrun of Tuskaloosa, Ala., Shawn Whitley of Waterloo and Ronda Weihofen of Illinois.

Preceded in death by his mother; and a brother, Charles “David.”

Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty–Waychoff–Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 7 p.m. time of sharing. There will be no services.
