CEDAR FALLS, IOWA — Alan Joseph King, 46, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, July 13, at his home.

He was born September 11, 1965, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Donald E. and Kathleen A. Kemp King. He married Crystal Keown in Cedar Falls and they later divorced.

He graduated from Dike High School in 1984. Mr. King was employed in hospitality at the Holiday Inn in Cedar Falls, co-owned and operated AJ’s Eatery and Johnny Poppers in Waterloo, was manager with Village Inn, and a manager-in-training at the Cedar Falls Hy-Vee.

He is survived by three sons: Bennett, Ethan and Garrette of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Devin of Cedar Falls; his mother, Kathleen A. (Don) Corcoran of Hazelton; three sisters, Maureen (Steve) Pruisner of Cedar Falls, Jacque (Loren) Bakker of Dike and Elaine (Kelly) Smith of New Hartford; a brother, Martin (Shelly) King of Olathe, Kan.; and a special friend, Sara Miller of Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Private family services will be held Monday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Dike. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home
