EVANSDALE, Iowa --- Robert P. “Bob” Whitaker, 53, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of the Evansdale area, died at home Wednesday, May 30.

He was born July 23, 1958, in Waterloo, son of William W. and Darlis E. Gaede Whitaker.

He was a 1976 graduate of East High School, Waterloo. Mr. Whitaker was employed in the sales department of the family business, Whitaker Foods, Waterloo, prior to moving to Arlington in 2004.

Survived by two daughters, Bobbie Jo Yearous of Quasqueton and Kristine Lee Whitaker of Center Point; three grandchildren; a sister, Shari (Ron) Bright of Waterloo; and two brothers, Jerry of Arlington, Texas, and Jeffrey of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, preceded by two hours of visitation.
