Helen Hahn, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

She was born December 5, 1921 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Chris and Jennie (Grarup) Vognsen. She married Milton Hahn on April 10, 1947 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1999.

Helen was employed as a welder at Clay Equipment, a bookkeeper with Cedar Falls Implement, and a secretary at both Trinity United Methodist Church and the Cedar Falls High School music department, retiring in 1985.

Survivors include a daughter, Robbin (Tom) Hahn Bothof, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sons, Jay (Candy) Hahn of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jan Hahn of Waterloo, Iowa; ten grandchildren, Zachary and Eric, Jessie, Elizabeth, Hannah and Mackenzie, and Abigail, Elise, Olivia and Emma; two great grandchildren, Addy and Ellie; two brothers, Chris Vognsen of Cedar Falls and Lester (Letty) Vognsen of Florida; a sister, Myrna (Kenneth) Hahn, of Georgia, and a sister-in-law, Lillian Hahn, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and husband, her twin sister, Ruth Timmer, and her brother, George Vognsen.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday, July 11, 2008, at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—7:00 pm Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Falls Community Theatre.
